A reader asks:
When it comes to installing my Neff of Chicago custom cabinets, can I use my own installer?
The answer is you probably can. Neff prefers customers to use installers who have experience with Neff cabinetry. Because the cabinetry that Neff designs and manufactures is engineered for ease of installation, it is generally not a problem to contract with the installer of your choice.
In an effort to keep costs lower, Neff does not have installers on staff, but the company can connect customers with a professional who knows the Neff system, in virtually any U.S. market.
Customers discover that installers really like working with Neff cabinetry. It’s designed to easily adjust to any imperfections in your floors and walls, and to allow for easy door leveling and adjustment. Here are some of the features of Neff cabinetry that installers appreciate:
There is no paint or lacquer application in the home. Finishes are applied at the factory by Neff craftsmen who use state-of-the-art equipment for even application. This ensures that you get the exact color that you selected. Because the unique Acrylic Polyurethane finish seals in VOCs and MDF, the painted cabinets won’t poison the air in your home. In addition, conformant fasteners are used instead of glues. That eliminates another possible pollutant and means cabinets can be easily disassembled for on-site modification.
Adjustable galvanized steel legs on Neff cabinets are covered by a removable, integrated toekick that clips to the cupboard legs, or optional decorative legs can be left exposed to create a contemporary look. Leg construction provides a channel between the floor and cabinet bottom for wiring, plumbing and ventilation.
Finally, Neff cabinetry is safer to install because there is no need for sticks or jacks. A unique heavy gauge hang rail system mounts to the wall, avoiding the need to fasten the cabinets directly to the wall. Adjacent cabinets can be attached before hanging to allow for the “throw” of the wall.
