Fear of Custom: Clearing Up Cabinetry Concerns

12.28.2010

“I would love to have custom kitchen cabinets. Can I afford them?”

“It takes too long to receive custom cabinets.”

“I am afraid to order custom cabinets because I’m not sure how to manage the process.”

A new kitchen with custom cabinetry that’s designed and fitted for your space and needs would be fantastic! There are just a couple of concerns that keep you from taking the plunge. Here’s how Neff of Chicago addresses potential buyers’ questions:

The Cost

Of course, quality is the mainstay of all Neff custom cabinetry. At the same time, the company understands that clients have very different budget parameters.  To meet a range of needs, Neff offers its exceptional cabinets at 10 different price levels, based on several variables: materials used, style of door, exclusivity of design and the amount of hand detailing and grain matching required.

Another buyer concern is the upfront retainer a number of premium cabinetry dealers and kitchen design boutiques charge just to prepare an estimate. Neff doesn’t do that because whether your budget is around twenty thousand dollars, or over two hundred thousand, you need to know what kind of kitchen you can expect before you spend any money.

World economics may also put Neff custom cabinetry within your budget since their worldwide production facility is located in Canada where the dollar has been lower than the US dollar for most of the last 40 years.

The Timeline

Neff of Chicago can design, produce, deliver and install a project in 17 weeks, or even 12 weeks if you elect to take advantage of a premium-priced rush option.

Because the cabinets are crafted in North America, just eight hours from Chicago, the production and delivery period of 11 to 12 weeks can be less than half of that of products manufactured overseas.  The time it takes before production starts can be shortened if the client provides approvals in a timely manner at each phase in the design process.

The Process

Unless you’re a professional designer, builder or architect, the process of designing, ordering, and installing new custom cabinetry can be complicated.  Neff of Chicago considers it their job to guide and work with customers every step of the way, from discovering what the client wants, to making sure the final product is properly installed.
