I had to ask her to repeat herself. We were in my office beginning a discussion about the new home they wanted my company to build for them and she had in her hand a brochure from a company called Neff of Chicago. Apparently, she had sat with their design team and talked about a custom luxury kitchen for her new home.
As taken aback as I was with her initial statement, I was intrigued by the high level of quality and functionality I saw in the craftsmanship of the Neff luxury kitchens. My client began noting the customizations she had requested, having chosen from 5,000 different color options for the cabinets in her kitchen and the contemporary lines to her countertops. Her color scheme was crèmes and olive tones with a rustic Italian feel.
She had already chosen the Gaggenau appliances for the kitchen and customized her cabinets for increased storage space.
As we talked about her kitchen selection, I realized that the awareness of her luxury kitchen choices gave me a great perspective about their tastes and also promoted ideas about upgrades and customizations I could add to the house layout to work with their selected kitchen design. It was a bit of an epiphany for me.
I have worked with interior designers in the past to customize a client’s home, but I’ve never had the ability to customize a home around a specific room. It made the rest of my work much easier and allowed for a more creative house design.
I will take the initiative to recommend Neff of Chicago luxury cabinetry to my custom home clients in the future, before we decide the right home for them.
