Racks, Rails and Pulldowns: Crowded Closet Rx

12.21.2011

You’re halfway to work when you realize the pants you are wearing are navy, not the black ones you thought you were selecting.  Or, you waited until the last minute to pick out your outfit for the big meeting only to discover the slacks that match your best blazer are badly wrinkled.

Could there be a simple solution to these all too common wardrobe “malfunctions?” There is, and we can sum it up in three phrases: racks, rails and pulldowns.

Resolve to start the New Year right with a closet system that works with you to show off your wardrobe to best advantage. The Neff Valet Closet Collection, for example, features storage and display concepts that go way beyond hangers and rods.

Instead of sorting through a row of tightly packed hangers, you can browse through your wardrobe in the light of day when your pants (or skirts) are brought front and center on cascading pant racks. Your clothes come out of hiding, so what you think you see IS what you get. Another bonus: pullout racks save precious time because you don’t have to take out several pairs of pants (skirts or shirts) and lay them on the bed just to see what is there.

Systems that incorporate racks, rails and pullouts with shelving and more traditional hanging rods are also great space savers. By reconfiguring how you use your existing closet dimensions, you can gain substantial inches vertically and horizontally, minimizing wasted space. You can fit more clothes in your closet without crowding and cramming, or without resorting to keeping part of your wardrobe in another room. It’s so much easier to coordinate a sharp look if all the elements are right there in front of you, beautifully organized, freshly pressed and ready to go. Add pullout scarf and tie organizers, cascading belt racks or shoe shelves to your design and accessorizing becomes a breeze.

You take pride in your professionalism and organization skills on the job. Shouldn’t your closet be up to the challenge?
