Are We There Yet? Navigating the Remodeling Timeline

11.23.2010

With the holidays coming up, you start thinking that it would be nice to have a brand new kitchen or bathroom so you could entertain guests and those out-of-town relatives in style. Well, now is the time to start planning for 2011.

How long does it take to transform your current space into a dream kitchen or bathroom?

Neff of Chicago can design, produce, deliver and install your new luxury kitchen or bath in 17 weeks, or as few as 12 weeks if you choose a rush option.  Because Neff cabinetry is crafted in North America, just eight hours from Chicago, the production and delivery period can be less than half the time required for products manufactured overseas.

Neff has discovered, however, that many customers need more time in the design and approval phases of the process. With that in mind, Neff recommends that you plan your first design visit about 23 weeks before you want your new kitchen to be “open for business.”

Here is a typical project timeline:

Phase 1   Preliminary Design Quotation – 2 weeks. One week for Neff; one week for client approval.

Phase 2   Design Approval and Order – 6 weeks. Four weeks for Neff; two weeks for client approval and go ahead.

Phase 3   Production – 12 weeks. Neff of Chicago.

Phase 4   Installation – 3 weeks. Cabinet and countertop installation. (Typically two weeks are needed to complete and install countertops).

Phase 5   Post-Installation Follow-up – 1 week.

Because NEFF cabinetry is crafted in North America, just 8 hours from Chicago, the production and delivery period of 11 to 12 weeks can be less than half of that of products which are manufactured overseas.

The other activities that happen before and after production add a minimum of 6 weeks to the time from when you first sit down with NEFF of Chicago to the time your cabinetry is installed.  You’ll need to add two weeks after Installation to complete your countertops.

Can Neff do it faster?

Certainly! There are two ways to achieve a tighter your Neff project timeline. The first is to shorten the approval phase by providing quick approvals after each phase is completed. That will save a few weeks. The second is to request a rush service for a premium price. That cuts the production timeline in half.

Hey me too Just find some good builders to work for. People with money ullsuay say oh I want something there and then after is done they are like oh maybe something there or can you make this and pint to something in a mag. For the less decisive homeowners you just sort of suggest I think a china cabinet would look good there or You could use a window seat to store stuff in there. Its hard to make a living on furniture alone I guess if thats all I did I would get some contract with furniture companys, If you have some money on hand build some intricate pieces and then put them on consignment at a local furniture store or the nearest big town. Soory I cant help with the question Good Luck You should go to my 360 page Im building a kayak I got the plans from One ocean kayaks.
